"OUR BED OF ROSES"

ARTIST:
WADE VINCENT ROOT
CD:
OUR BED OF ROSES
PRODUCERS:
JIM VEST/JIM WILLIAMS

Wade Vincent Root's music was sent to me by Martha Moore, ("so much MOORE-marketing/media) and I am very glad it was. Wade has the makings of a real star. This album, "Our Bed Of Roses", is filled with song after song of terrific music. In fact, there's not a song here, that I haven't fallen in love with. It makes it very difficult for me to single out any one song as a favorite. I truly don't think I can DO it!!

I always enjoy a real country singer, and especially when he has something different to offer. Wade has that. At first, you might not recognize just what that 'something different' is, but after you listen awhile, you'll discover that Wade has chosen these songs because he knows they are, well, HIS songs. He doesn't consider himself a songwriter, so he says "I'll leave that up to the professionals". He does, however, have an uncanny ability to pick the songs that he can put his whole heart and soul into. And that means, he MAKES them HIS songs. And THAT means, he sings them with passion…far and away THE most important part of a performance, as far as this yankee music 'critic' is concerned. (boy, how I hate that term…critic! But it seems to come with the territory)

When Wade sings "Little Bits and Pieces" (Hank Cochran/Dean Dillon), he makes ME believe that HE believes every word. It's a beautiful song, and he sings with such emotion and soul, that it MIGHT be my favorite….IF I had a favorite……….and then, he wipes me out with "That Makes One of Us" (Bryan Austin/Keith Stegall/Gary Harrison). WOW. The lyrics in this song make you stop and really listen. And again, his voice and interpretation of those lyrics are about as perfect as it gets. So….maybe THAT'S my favorite…well, no, not exactly….'cause…

…then he starts wailin' "Give It Back" (Jeff Wallikangas/Michiel B. Ware/Jody Harris). This is one you'll want to stomp your feet to, or at least tap your fingers. I guess we can't all stop what we're doin' and hit the dance floor, huh? But that's a real shame, since I know you'll have the urge to do just that when you hear this one.

And I can't stop, without mentioning the first single on the album "She Don't Know What It's Like" (Gordon Bradberry). This one is the clincher, and luckily it's the first cut on the CD. So when you hear it, and love it, like I KNOW you will, you'll be hooked. Wade and all his supporters and fans are hoping this one will take off, and put him out there for everyone, here AND overseas, to see and hear!! It's very hard for me to understand why he isn't a star, already! This guy can get your attention without even trying! And he sings like a bird…a COUNTRY bird, that is.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for Wade Vincent Root, and his newest album "Our Bed of Roses". This is an artist that deserves a lot of attention, and I hope the folks out there in the 'real' country music business, will make a special effort to listen to this CD. Wades website http://www.wadevincentroot.com shows off all his music, and you can read his bio and all the other interesting things about this artist there. Take a minute, just for me, boys and girls, and go take a look….and listen. I'm givin' this one a BIG thumbs up…but then, as always….this is only…
