SHELLEY BUFFITT

CD: BAD SIDE OF TOWN
PRODUCER: RANDY MOORE
FIVE STAR PRODUCTIONS

I haven’t been spending much time listening to music for a few weeks, doin’ time in "flu-land". But, what a great way to get back to work, listenin’ to the refreshing and pure country voice of Shelley Buffitt! I couldn’t have picked a better way to ease myself into the "salt-mines". (Smile) Juuust kiddin’, folks. YOU know there’s nothin’ I enjoy more than listenin’ to great country music, and then tellin’ everyone I know! So, here goes….

Ms. Shelley Buffitt’s people sent this CD to me awhile back, and because I am always tryin’ my best to take ‘em as I get ‘em, it took a seat at the back of an already very long stack of music. BUT, it was well worth the wait…for ME, at least. I’m sorry I didn’t get this one reviewed sooner, though, ‘cause I could have told y’all how great she is before now! Oh, I know, most of you have already heard Shelley sing, and most of you already love her work, but humor me, ok? Let me, at least THINK I’m introducing you to a new great talent! And, indeed, she IS one very talented lady. So, if you’re already familiar with Shelley, put on her CD now and read on. But if you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing her sing, well, you are in for a real good time!

This CD is filled with traditional country music, 8 of 14 written by Shelley. I don’t think I heard one song I didn’t like. Her honky tonk style is the kind of stuff that makes ya feel just like you’re sittin’ with a group of friends, tappin’ your fingers on the table, while you eat peanuts and wash them down with a cool one. It’s the kind of music that is contagious, too. You might even decide to sing along! (or try, at least) And what a great band (ShellShocked) she has backin’ her up. I wish all the artists I listen to, had this kind of wonderful support and backup.

Like I said earlier, I’m really sorry I’m so long in getting’ around to this one, ‘cause it was definitely my loss! Just think, I could have been enjoying this great music for weeks now! Heck, it may have even gotten that flu-bug outta my life a little sooner! I think, no, I KNOW, if you listen to Shelley’s work just once, you’ll be hooked for life! You can check it out, if you haven’t already, at her website http://fivestar-productions.hyperlink.net/shelley and you’ll also find her debut album there as well. Her first album, "My First Love",
was a big hit with the whole world, and in 1999 Shelley was named "European Female Vocalist of the Year" by Nashville Tracker Magazine. I have NO doubt that this superior artist is going to go all the way to the top. Wanna bet?? Hey, I know, it’s…only ...
