"FROM THE STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD"

ARTISTS: DON & ANNIE KIDWELL
CD TITLE: FROM THE STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD
PRODUCERS/LABEL: NIPPDOG RECORDS
Another great album from Don and Annie Kidwell. I've liked their work since the very first time I heard it, a couple of years ago, so this one is no surprise to me. I knew I'd enjoy it, and had no worries about being able to tell y'all how good it is!

"From the Streets of Bakersfield" is another one for your collection of D&A Kidwell albums, and really, I think they just keep getting better and better! They lead you in with a catchy tune, "The Game" (Don/Annie Kidwell), and then, (get out your Kleenex) they play you out with a "killer" song, "Where Do We Go From Here, Annie" (Red Simpson). It's like they KNOW it's just the song to hold you over till their next album! It sure had that effect on me, anyway! But I don't think they'll have to worry about 'where' to go from here. Don and Annie Kidwell don't ever seem to take a wrong turn.

Each song on this CD is killer. Each is real country music, and has that Kidwell stamp for easy listening. I couldn't have enjoyed it more…well, maybe if they'd done about twice as many songs on it, I would have!! But, hey, 10 songs, in fact, 10 GREAT songs, are enough….for NOW. These two artists singing together make Sonny and Cher look like "the ODD couple" !! I think the 'big guy upstairs" knew what he was doing when he paired up this talented duo. And I'm glad he did!

The CD is very well produced, very professional. I always feel especially well treated, when I get a CD like this. Sometimes an indie record has a sound that's not quite up there with the "big boys", in production value. This one is very definitely, "up there". And to make it even more of a treat, they sent me some special

surprises! Not only do I get to listen to the CD, but I now have a video of their LIVE concert at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace! What fun! Thanks for that, guys. You are a class act. I'm rarely treated to anything like this! It makes what I do, a little easier. And makes this "critic" feel pretty special. Thanks, again.

Take a listen to some clips at their website, and then make the decision to add this one to your collection. You'll probably want to put it at the top of your list! 'Course, as usual, this is only
