Are you and your love lookin' for a nice, quiet, romantic evening at home? Well, if that's the case, then I have found just the thing for you! How about a little cuddling music to dance to? Sometimes you don't
want to get blasted out of our seats with loudspeakers "up to here". Sometimes you
don't need lyrics that interrupt the"sweet nothings" he or she is whispering in your ear. All you want to do is just dance…alone

…just the two of you! And this album is just the ticket for an evening like that.

We don't often get the chance to find a CD that's purely instrumental, purely country. So when one comes along, you'd better grab it. And this one, "Sawed Off Shotgun", should be in your "music to dance to" file. Now, I have to say this….the title is somewhat misleading (at least to me it was). With a title like that, I expected some pretty loud, pretty foot-stompin' music! But it's a far cry from that. (Not that that's a BAD thing.) It's just not what I would have titled it.
I would probably have chosen another single-like "Faded Love"
(Bob Wills/John Wills) or maybe "Midnight Silence" (Lloyd Green). But that's ok, no one asked ME to title it.

Jim Loessberg does a superb job with his smooth steel guitar performance, and his band only adds more to this mellow music. My dad played steel on the radio when he was a very young man (as did Jim's…remember Les Loessberg?). So this instrument brings up some nice memories for me, as
well. He (MY dad) moved on to piano, and I never to the chance to hear him play this fabulous steel-stringed instrument, but I often think of him whenever I heart someone else playing. So I can understand why Jim would dedicate this CD to his Dad's memory. And it was a joy for me when Jim asked me to take a listen to his new album.

I enjoyed listening, Jim! And I'm real glad you wrapped it all up with "Brown Derby" (Buddy Emerson)--- A song just MEANT to be played on steel! Ok, so this one isn't exactly a "dance" tune, but it sure adds that needed punch to wake you up and bring you back to reality. If you WANT to be brought back, that is….If you prefer to just keep on dancin' close all night, then skip this bouncier tune, and go back to the beginning.
But hey, you're gonna have to blow out those candles and empty the ashtrays sooner or later! So "Brown Derby" will give you something fun to boogie to, while you're doing it. You'll find more information about Jim's CD on his website http://www.jimloessberg.com or check out http://www.startexrecords.com I think everyone should have an album like this in their collection. After all, you never know when that special occasion that calls for dancing and romance,

might come along! "Sawed Off Shotgun", like I said earlier, is just the ticket.
That's MY opinion, folks….and, as you know, it's only….
