Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan

CD: Back From The Dead. Volume 2

Duets are big this year, in Country music. You know, Faith and Tim, Clint and Lisa, Bonnie and Cly…oooops. Well, you get my drift. Anyway, if you’ve found yourself lookin’ for more of ‘em, well, have I got news for you! You’ve found ‘em!! Or, I have, anyway…and I’m gonna lead you right to ‘em!

Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan (i.e. Jack&Misty), are two people who God sent down to this great planet of ours, just to sing to us….TOGETHER! I have had the pleasure over the past few weeks, of playing their latest CD "Back From The Dead", over and over again. And I’m tellin’ ya, folks, I have not tired of it. I could listen to it first thing in the morning over coffee, at lunch with a tuna sandwich, dinner at eight whilst pulling apart a lobster or chowin’ down on a burger! I could listen to ‘em while running the vacuum, (although it’d be tough to hear ‘em), doin’ the dishes, writing my will, uhhhhhh, my will?? Never mind. Suffice it to say, I could listen to these two "love-birds" ANYTIME! What a beautiful pairing!

From the first song on the disc, "Somewhere in Virginia in the Rain", to the last "You Come So Easy To Me", this album is one of the best I’ve ever heard. There is not one song that is unsettling, not one that makes me want to skip over it, not one that leaves me cold, not one that screams anything but pure true country croonin’. Misty has a unique voice that is kinda hard for me to put into words. But I’ll try. How about COOL …..MELLOW ….SEXY ….and CLEARLY HERS! It’s a sound that’s distinctive to only her. And then, to that we add that soothing, romantic sound that comes forth from the lungs and HEART of Jack. WOW. What a seductive combination. Who could listen to these two, and not want to fall in love? And if you’re already in love, well, warn your partner….you’re ready to "dance" …metaphorically speaking, even...(smile)

I can’t say enough about this album or about the two very talented people who’ve put it together. If I were sitting in a club somewhere, and feelin’ a little low, and they came up onstage and began to perform…well, that’s all it would take. I’d be smilin’ in no time. AND lookin’ around for someone to share that smile with! (this is assuming, of course, that hubby wasn’t hangin’ around too close by:) ‘Course, if he was, he’d be findin’ himself soon to be involved in some serious romantic ….stuff! (smile)

Every song on the album is terrific…and they included their biggest hit, "Tennessee Birdwalk". And thank goodness they did. Cause an album of theirs just is not complete without that great tune! A couple of particular favorites of mine were "When the Blues Come in from The Rain" and "Somewhere In Virginia in the Rain" (and yes, I DO like rain!) And we can’t overlook "Cows". What fun that one is! Just listen to it! Then go take a drive in the country, and find yourself a cow, and see if you don’t just burst into senseless laughter!

Hey guys, please check this album out. Go visit Jack and Misty’s website at http:// jackandmisty.com and buy their album while you’re at it. I don’t mean to be ‘bossy’..…but when you get their CD and hear "Cows", you’ll be ‘bossy’ too! (smile) All kidding aside though, this is one of the best duo’s around, and they could give those CMA award winners, a run for their money!! And you KNOW who I mean. And yes, this IS….
