Glynn Martin

ARTIST: Glynn Martin
CD: Moving On With Glynn Martin
PRODUCER: Mike Headrick & Glynn Martin
Reviewing the work of Glynn Martin is a real pleasure, so this is not difficult
for me at all. Listening to Glynn is like sitting in the living room, and
hearing him tell a story of what happened that day. Its easy, relaxing,
and soothing. I can feel the love he has for his wife, for whom he did the
first song on the album, "Way Down Inside My Heart". Its easy,
really! There is not one song that Glynn has ever sent to me, that has felt
contrived or uncomfortable. He sings them with his soul, and you can tell
that when you hear him. Its not easy to fool your fans, not even easy to fool
folks whove never heard you before. So, if you sing with sincerity and
honesty, as he does, it comes through, loud and clear. Glynn has lots of friends
in this business, and I get the feeling that they all admire him as much as
he admires them! He talks, in his conversations with me, of all
the folks hes come to know
through the years, and you can hear the love in his heart. But dont
get me wrong, Glynn is no angel. (Smile) Nope
He has a few ornery bones
in his body too. So when youre listening to some of his songs, listen
close! Theres a definite twinkle in his eye, that an audio tape doesnt
cover up. It comes right on through. And thats what I like about him
AND
his music. I think what I like the most, though, is his very honest love of
the music
AND his very true love for his wife. ("My best friend",
he calls her.) What a wonderful thing! And often taken for granted by so many
people in this big ol world we live in. If youre the family driven
type, the kind of person who feels strongly about his family and good friends,
who admires that in other people, and who takes nothing for granted, then
youll really enjoy Glynns great songs. And believe me, folks,
youll be listening to TRUE country music! Dont worry about any
Pop stuff being flung at ya. Its just not here! What a relief! I think
that more and more, I'm finding myself a little edgy each time I listen to
a new CD. I keep waiting for the "other shoe to fall", so to speak
waiting for that one POP song, to be hidden in the album somewhere, and ready
to jump out all over me. But when an artist like Glynn comes along, I can
relax. He has no surprises
for me. At least none that are disturbing. Im always, however, surprised
to be honored when given the opportunity to review some of the great talents
like Glynn Martin. I hope youll try to take a listen to his tunes, this
album is called "Moving On With Glynn Martin". Heck, I even like
the cover shot! What a happy guy. What a lucky gal I am to be his friend.
And his fan! Go get em, Glynn!
