BRINGING BACK MEMORIES

ARTIST: JIMMY EAVES
CD: BRINGING BACK MEMORIES

Jimmy Eaves has a new single out right now, that'll make you cry, for sure. I know, you might not WANT to cry, but go ahead and listen to it, anyway, ok? I know you'll like it. Jimmy (a retired firefighter) was contacted by an old friend, Lawton Williams, who wrote the song called "Bring My Daddy Home". It's a wonderful song, and I was so touched when I heard it, I decided to include it in my review about his album "Bringing Back Memories". Jimmy is one of the great traditional country artists who SHOULD be heard routinely on our major radio stations here in the states.

But, of course, he's probably "too country" for a country station. Ah well, we've talked about THAT subject enough for now. (However, as a side note, I'd like to just add that I think we've made some progress with our cries of protest. I think the folks in Nashville and elsewhere are beginning to think hard about what's happened to 'country' music, don't you? )

So, back to Jimmy. "Bring My Daddy Home" was not only written by Lawson Williams, but he also produced the single for Jimmy. And you'll find it on the Pureco Records label. You can also find it on his website, as well as the album I'm about to tell you about.

"Bringing Back Memories" is an album filled with pure country music. No surprises, just pure, clean, and wonderful country songs. And I've learned that Jimmy has been hosting a show from the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Fort Worth Stockyards for about 3 years now, together with his friend, Frankie Miller. I bet that's something worth listening to!! All you very traditional music fans will not be disappointed with anything Jimmy Eaves gives to ya. I loved the songs on this CD…ALL of them! How do I choose a favorite?? I don't. It's just not possible. And what a wonderful band he has backing him up, too. It's refreshing to hear something REAL for a change, instead of just comin' from a keyboard! And wait till you hear Jimmy yodeling to the music on track 4, "Hobo's Meditations". Ohhhh, it's great!! I could listen to that one, over and over. But, you know, if you just wait a half a second, he'll lead you right into the next one, just as good, "Pretty Words". Oh, and what could BE more "country" than "Lovesick Blues" (Hank Williams)?

Folks, this is just one of the best CD's I've listened to, lately, and I'm so grateful to my friend, Tom Wardle, out there in PA, at Down Home Country Promotions, for sending it along to me! He's definitely a Jimmy Eaves fan, and now, so am I! I hope y'all will visit Jimmy's website http://www.jimeaves.com and order it right up! Nothing, NOTHING, could be more country than this! And if you're lookin' for country music, pure and simple, nothing will make you happier. But, of course, that's just…
