Carl Vaughan

"Yours Forever"

CD: Yours Forever
Artist: Carl Vaughan
Label: Rafter V Records

Well, I popped this one in the CD player this morning, with every intention of making it "background music" to everything else I had to do on this busy day. BUT.I was stopped in my tracks as soon as the title track , "Yours Forever" began! Now, I'm not sayin' the first tune, "Walk Off the World" (jerry max lane), wasn't a good one, 'cause it very definitely WAS, but this one REALLY got my attention! Not only are the lyrics (red simpson) very
touching, but this song is a reviewers AND vocalists dream! It tells me this guy can really sing! And.BEAUTIFULLY! Not a bad note in the song-in fact, not a bad note in the whole album! Very smooth, very romantic, and.VERY early in the morning!! Another favorite of mine on this CD, was "I 've Just Destroyed the World I'm Living In" (Willie Nelson/Ray Price). And they just don't seem to stop! No bad songs on this CD, boys and girls.

I knew these Texans could belt out a tune, but some are just.well, BETTER.than others! So, what can I say? Carl Vaughan is a name many of you are already familiar with.he's sung with some real legends (Willie Nelson; George Jones; and Tammy Wynette, just to name a few) and had lots of charted records, like "You're Just Another Beer Drinking Song" (what a FUN song, Carl!), and a hit album, "Six Feet Deep in the Heart of Texas". (what better title, coming from this Ft.Worth cowboy?!)

Carl's been singin' since he was just a "baby".4 years old, I think. And over some 30 years, it sounds to me like his voice hasn't suffered one bit in all that time! I'm delighted that Carl and Rafter V Records sent me this great material! It's always a pleasure to listen to, and write about, such wonderful music! Thanks, Carl!

I hope everyone of you who's been reading my reviews for awhile (an even you "first timers"), will have the chance to hear this CD. Folks, drop Carl a line at RafterVRecords@aol.com to ask him where you can hear some samples of his work (if you haven't already!), or better yet, if you like GREAT traditional AND "dance-to" music, just go ahead and order it! His CD is available at www.amazon.com and www.HonkyTonkin.com. I promise you, you'll love every song you hear.right down to the last one, "After the Lovin'". I mean, who doesn't just love THAT song?? This is a true example of pure country music.but then.as always, this is only ....
