BJ Young

CD: Waiting On Your Love
ARTIST: BJ Young
PRODUCER: Kenny Jones

I really enjoyed this new CD, and I think BJ is one very talented "girl singer" (as they used to call them). And what better way to begin a great CD, than with an old song that still has a way of makin’ us want to sing along. "Walkin’ After Midnight" is one of those songs that brings a touch of nostalgia to anyone who’s ever listened to the oldies-but-goodies on the radio, late at night.

Follow that one up with "Cryin’ Time Again", and you’ve got your audience just where you want them. Personally, I think that BJ knew the effect the first couple of songs would have on the listener, and she played it for all it was worth! ‘Cause after she’s got ya in the palm of her hand, she can just have fun, from there on in. And that’s exactly what she does!

BJ is a terrific artist, but she knows when to step out of the spotlight, and let the band play on. It’s REAL country, the way it SHOULD be. SHARING a stage or studio with a group of musicians should MEAN something. And you’ll be able to hear that sharing feeling among these performers. There’s no mistaking the respect they have for each other, either. "Blue’s The Color of Love", is a prime example of that. You can almost visualize the band playing quietly, while BJ croons. Then, she invites them to "go ahead—show off!" I’m only guessing about this scenario, of course, but I’d almost be willing to put money on it.

One song just seems to flow into the next on this album, no shocks to your system, here. And no need to let go of your partner when one song is over, ‘cause the next one will keep you dancin’, too! Its almost too perfect, and I LOVE that!

BJ Young, is a lady with a very full and classic sound. She reminds me of several legends, all rolled into one—with, maybe, Patsy Cline seated front row and center. But BJ is not a duplicate of ANYONE…She’s BJ! And that’s a very GOOD thing. I’m gonna be waiting to hear from this talented artist again, and soon, I hope! I’m sure, if you take a look at the website ( www.stardustcountrymusic.com) and take a listen to a clip or two of her work, you’ll agree with me that the award for "Airplay International King Eagle Female Rising Star" she took home, was well deserved.

BJ Young, who’s on the Stardust record label, is not to be missed. Talk about transporting someone to another world with your music—well, she takes me STRAIGHT to Nashville! No stops along the way, either. Thanks for letting me listen, BJ. I’m sure you’ll have a boat-load of new fans, if they’ll just take a listen to your work. But, of course, this is only…
